Next Unlimited Refuse Collection Set For May 9 In Glen Ellyn

Glen Ellyn residents can unload furniture, appliances, construction materials and other items during Groot's unlimited trash pickup.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Residents will have a chance to unload old couches, unused appliances and other items during Groot's next unlimited refuse collection, which is slated for May 9.

Refuse items should be separate from normal household waste and placed in trash containers, boxes or bundles that weigh no more than 50 pounds. Furniture, lamps, appliances, bikes and other bulk items can be left unbundled.

Commercial buildings and multi-family buildings are not eligible to take part in the unlimited refuse collection. The following items will not be accepted for collection:

  • Bricks, concrete, broken glass and stone that is not in a container
  • Electronic items
  • Fencing that is not placed in a container
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Liquids
  • Tubs and utility sinks

Residents should put their trash items at the curb by 7 a.m. May 9 to ensure pickup.
