Police Blotter: St. Mark's Gets Burgled, Generator Stolen

SATURDAY, SEPT. 1

Theft

A resident in the 300 block of Center Street reported that someone stole a portable gas generator between 6:20 a.m. and 6:10 p.m.,  reports said. The value of the generator was $1,189.66.

Burglary

Police said someone broke into the office at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 387 N. Main St., and stole a box containing an unknown amount of cash. The incident took place some time between 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday.

Retail theft

Employees at Walgreens, 324 Roosevelt Road reported at 2:35 p.m. that an unknown person or persons had stolen various items from the store, police said. Employees were unable to determine exactly what was stolen at the time the report was made.

Criminal damage

Police said someone damaged the screen on the front of a home in the 300 block of Hillside Avenue. The damage occurred between 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

Theft

A resident reported at 7:25 p.m. her cell phone was stolen while left unattended on the bleachers in the gym area at the Ackerman Sports Center, 800 St. Charles Road, police said. The phone was valued at less than $500.

Retail theft

Police said Martin Ojeda, 34, of the 400 block of Raintree Court, was arrested at 1:02 p.m. at Len’s Ace Hardware, 485 Roosevelt Road. He was charged with retail theft —shoplifting. Items stolen were not specified in the report.

Driving under the influence

Tracy A. Parks, 46, of the 1900 block of Sunnydale Lane, Lisle, was arrested at 1:41 a.m. at Roosevelt Road and I-355, police said. She was charged with a traffic signal violation and driving under the influence of alcohol.
