Tornado Warning Issued For Central DuPage County
The tornado warning was in effect until 10:15 a.m. Residents in the area were advised to take shelter.
WHEATON — A tornado warning was issued for the Wheaton and Carol Stream area Monday. The warning was in effect until 10:15 a.m., affecting parts of Glen Ellyn, Naperville and surrounding areas.
Residents in the area were advised to take shelter somewhere sturdy and far from windows, as the storm was "capable of producing a brief spin-up tornado" per the National Weather Service.
At College of DuPage, fire alarms were activated and students were instructed to shelter in place. A student told Patch the sirens stopped and class resumed around 10:15 a.m.

Students in Community Unit School District 200 also resumed class around 10:15 a.m., after safety protocols were followed amid the tornado warning.
