Everyone Should Get Vaccinated, 2nd Grader Argues
"Even though I have 1,000 stuffed animals, a friend is so much better," writes 8-year-old Sloane Mokhtarian in an op-ed.

Opinion from Sloane Mokhtarian, a second-grader at Willowbrook Elementary School in Glenview:
Are you sick and tired of Corona? Well, here are some reasons why we should get vaccinated.
First of all, you can see friends. You can be lonely in Corona, so it makes me happy when I can see or play with my friends. Second of all, you don't need to miss anyone. For example, if you have to quarantine, you are sad. You can't see anyone. If you get vaccinated, you don't need to miss anyone. Next, you don't need to skip or Zoom your birthday party. For example, my brother had to skip his. He cried so much. But if you get vaccinated, you don't need to cry. Next, you don't need to wear a mask. You don't need to sweat in your mask. You know the icky feeling. You can go anywhere with no mask. Now if we forget our masks, we have to drive all the way home. You can have sleepovers. It is sad to be lonely in bed without a friend sleeping over. Even though I have 1000 stuffed animals, a friend is so much better. We can chat. You can touch other people. You know the feeling of staying six feet apart. It is sad. The world can be normal. Everybody has to stay in their houses if you have symptoms of Corona. You can go places with your BFF. You know you can't see your BFF or go fun places except if it's outside. You can do a carpool. If your mom or dad works late, you don't want to be the last person at school. You can go swimming at a water park. I know you sweat in the summer with no place to pull you down. You can go on an airplane. You are always stuck at home. WE NEED A BREAK! You can eat with other people if we can take our stinky masks off. You don't need a mask at school. Can we just talk about the fact that they are uncomfortable, itchy, weird, don't fit you, and cost like $50 each?! You can share stuff. We can't even touch other people's stuff. It's like we are in jail.
And that is a rap. Bye Corona. See you never. Remember, you don't need to skip or Zoom your birthday party, miss friends or anyone and many more reasons. So keep our phone near for a call for an appointment to get back safe. Stay safe! BYE!!!!!
