Glenview's Holiday Spirit Ignites with Two Can't-Miss Shows This Weekend
Fire dancer at the Clove this Friday and the 10th Anniversary of "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" at the Oil Lamp Theater now.
Glenview, IL – This weekend, the village offers two spectacular but very different holiday performances, promising warmth, wonder, and community spirit just in time for the season.
The headline event is the triumphant return of the dazzling Fire dance Spectacular at The Clove Restaurant this Friday, December 12, at 8:30 PM. After a sold-out debut over a month ago, the restaurant’s owners knew they had to bring the remarkable show back for the holidays. The talented trio of Luke the fire dancer, Sierra the acrobat, and Safire the belly dancer will reunite for a mesmerizing, unscripted performance lasting just under two hours. The evening culminates with the dancers inviting audience members onto the floor for a festive communal dance.
"We realized we had something truly special on our hands," said Ankur Sharma, co-owner of The Clove. "We're now moving our premier entertainment nights to Fridays and we welcome everyone to join us this Friday for the show, or even earlier for a wonderful dinner." “ please call us directly at 847-999-0862. Also in town is a beloved tradition: the 10th Anniversary of “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” at the Oil Lamp Theater. Running now through December 28, the theater has performed this heartwarming radio-play version since 2015, making it a seasonal staple.
This year's performances carry extra significance as the theater is deep into its “Light the Way” capital campaign. The initiative will fund the theater's move to a much larger location directly across the street, allowing for expanded programs while preserving its intimate, community-centered soul.
