Michael O'Reilly, 44, of the 3800 block of W. 116th Street, Alsip, is accused of theft by deception, and was arrested at 3:58 p.m. Nov. 27, at the Oak Forest Police Department. He was released and assigned a court date of Dec. 1.

FAILURE TO GIVE AID OR INFORMATION

Amelie Pankov, 23, of the 8900 block of Heathwood Circle, Niles, is accused of failure to give aid or information, and was arrested at 3 p.m. Nov. 24, at the Glenview Police Department. The arrest followed an investigation into a traffic crash on Sept. 7. She was released and assigned a court date of Dec. 9.

SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE

Lizeth Rodriguez Herrera, 29, of the 9300 block of Golf Road, Des Plaines, is accused of driving while license suspended, possession of a suspended license, failure to yield right of way, and was arrested at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 18, in the 1700 block of Dempster Street, Park Ridge. The arrest followed an investigation into a traffic crash in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. She was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 7, 2026.

INCIDENTS

IDENTITY THEFT

An Admiral Court resident reported at 3:24 p.m. Nov. 18, someone had used their information and tried to apply for unemployment benefits. The resident said they are still employed and would sign complaints.

THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 4:47 p.m. Nov. 18, a Rockford resident had stolen a black leather massage chair and damaged the carpet inside from the suite they were staying in. The chair is $594, and the damaged carpet is around $900.
  • A resident of the 4700 block of West Lake Avenue reported at 12:07 p.m. Nov. 24, that "Joseph" from their nativity scene was stolen from the front yard and the electrical cord was cut. Total loss is $50.

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

A resident reported at 4:54 p.m. Nov. 18, someone had stolen the salt spreader attached to a vehicle. They believe the incident had occurred on Oct. 29 or Oct. 30 while the vehicle was parked in the 1900 block of North Lake Terrace. Total loss is estimated at $2,000.

FORGERY

A Hunter Road resident reported on Nov. 20 that they had mailed three checks on Oct. 17 at a post office box in Wilmette. The three checks were altered to different payees and amounts. Chase Bank closed the account and refunded the money, so there was no financial loss.

HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE

A Prairie Street resident reported at 12:34 p.m. Nov. 22, receiving unwanted phone calls and text messages from two California residents who were involved in a traffic crash with them previously. The resident would like the messages to stop. Officers were unable to connect with the California residents.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO STATE SUPPORTED PROPERTY

A resident reported at 4:41 p.m. Nov. 22, seeing two masked people climbing on top of a structure in the 3600 block of Glenview Road, where they tore off roof shingles, tossing them to the ground. The two left the area on bicycles. Officers found three damaged shingles on the ground.

INFORMATION FOR POLICE

Employees of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road called police at 4:58 p.m. Nov. 22, to report a customer had called the business upset over their item not being ready. The caller warned staff to keep their eyes open and watch their backs. Officers spoke with the caller, who denied making any threats and indicated they were upset over their insurance.

TRESPASS WARNING

  • Employees of a business in the 3000 block of Central Road called police at 5:26 p.m. Nov. 22, to request a trespass warning be given to a volunteer after they publicized false rumors trying to ruin the reputation of the business. The volunteer had previously turned in their keys to the on Nov. 19. Police contacted the person and advised them not to return.
  • Employees for a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard reported at 9:28 p.m. Nov. 22, a customer kept calling and making vague threats as they were upset over their order missing meals as well as the price of the meals increasing. Officers attempted to speak with them over the phone and in person. They were hostile towards officers, and they were warned not to return to the business.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY TO A SENIOR

An employee for a business in the 1800 block of Prairie Street reported at 3:39 p.m. Nov. 24, a customer had smacked them on the hip as they walked past each other. They advised management and are unsure if they want to sign complaints.
