‘Leads By Example’ With A 'Kind Heart': Glenview Star Student Athlete

GLENVIEW, IL — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

This submission comes from Michelle Kaufman who nominated Inessa, 12th grade, of Glenview. Inessa is Kaufman's daughter and is earning a 4.0 GPA at school.

Besides battling her own chronic illiness, she has managed to lead by example with a 4.0 gpa as well as being a varsity athlete. She thrives on success and knows that the challenges that life gave her, have made her a stronger person overall.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

She has a kind heart and would give the shirt off her back to help anyone. She runs with the wind and studies hard to ensure she maintains her academic honor roll standing.
