Memory Care Seniors Create Care Packages for Veterans Shelter
Emerald Place residents sent kindness bags and thanks to veterans in need.
In honor of Veterans Day, memory care seniors sent hope and friendship to veterans in need. Seniors at Emerald Place, an Anthem Memory Care community, assembled kindness bags at the community located at 1879 Chestnut Ave., Glenview, Illinois. The bags filled with essential items and heartfelt messages of gratitude were given to the Illinois Veterans Home in Chicago.
“Each bag we packed was filled with more than just supplies. It was filled with gratitude and a reminder that their service is not forgotten,” said Jaime Vahhaji, life engagement director for Emerald Place. “It gave our seniors purpose and a chance to continue to make a difference to others.”
