Milwaukee Avenue Bridge Repairs Underway In Glenview: Village

The Illinois Department of Transportation project is anticipated to be completed in September.

GLENVIEW, IL — Residents can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips in the area of the Milwaukee Avenue Bridge this month. According to the Village of Glenview, the repair project got underway Tuesday and is anticipated to be completed at some time in September.

The bridge, which carries Milwaukee Avenue (Illinois 21) over the Union Pacific Railroad, requires daytime closures. The Illinois Department of Transportation is overseeing the project, which consists of repairing the approaches, joint sealers and deteriorated concrete curbs.

Village officials are encouraging residents to find alternative routes. Drivers should pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
