Northbrook, IL – December 2025 – The North Suburban YMCA (NSYMCA) is proud to announce its latest Community Gallery exhibition featuring award-winning artist Kathryn Gauthier. Her new show, “Looking Back: 40 Paintings for 40 Years,” celebrates an extensive creative journey with forty works representing four decades of artistic exploration. The exhibition will be on display now through December in the NSYMCA Community Gallery located in Northbrook.

Gauthier, a graduate of Emmanuel College and Trinity Rep Conservatory, has built a vibrant fine art career intertwined with her lifelong passions in the performing, culinary, and healing arts. The exhibition features selections from four diverse bodies of work: some inspired by the depth and energy of the urban landscape, others by the dynamic rhythms and colors of jazz improvisation. Additional pieces focus on the play of light across form and objects that tie generations together, while others reflect the vast beauty and resilience of the American landscape.

“My 40 odd years as a practicing artist have taken me through a broad range of experiences and passions, leading me to explore different subject matter and mediums, including performing arts,” says Gauthier. “Ultimately, our life work is in becoming our best selves. The journey continues for me!”
