Ovvio Italian Taverna 'Brings People Together' In Downtown Glenview

GLENVIEW, IL — The revitalization of downtown Glenview continues with the opening of Ovvio Italian Taverna, the latest venture from Nick Philippas, owner and operator of North Branch Pizza and Burger Company and Joe Donut Café.

Ovvio Italian Taverna, located at 1148 Waukegan Road, "blends timeless culinary traditions with a fresh, modern approach — celebrating the flavors, warmth, and generosity of Italy in every dish." It is the latest in a series of new businesses to pop up in the historic commercial center, joining Hometown Coffee & Juice, Jackman & Co., with more planned for 2026.

"At Ovvio, great Italian food begins with simple, honest ingredients and a passion for bringing people together," said the Glenview Chamber of Commerce, which recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the former filling station site. "Whether you're joining for a casual dinner, a special celebration, or a glass of wine with friends, Ovvio offers a welcoming atmosphere designed to feel both refined and familiar."

Homemade pastas, wood-fired specialties and curated wines are among the highlights of a menu that can be enjoyed "in a space inspired by the charm of Italy's countryside and the energy of its bustling trattorias."
