Skokie, IL — The Douglas Center is expanding our production services and seeking a Part-Time Contract Embroidery Training Specialist to help lead this exciting growth. If you're experienced in machine embroidery and passionate about using your craft to support others, this flexible opportunity may be for you.

You’ll guide staff and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities through real-world embroidery projects—from setup and production to finishing and quality assurance. This is more than just technical work—it’s purposeful training with heart.
What You’ll Do:

  • Teach and oversee machine embroidery projects
  • Set up embroidery machines and prepare job materials
  • Train others on safe, effective embroidery techniques
  • Support participants in gaining hands-on skills and confidence
  • Help maintain an inclusive, mission-centered production environment

Who We’re Looking For:
✔ Skilled in machine embroidery (required)

✔ Comfortable instructing and mentoring individuals of all abilities
✔ Kind, focused, and process-oriented
✔ A collaborative team member with strong communication skills
