Coroner IDs Local Men Found Dead In Hotel Room In Waukegan

WAUKEGAN, IL β€” The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified two men found dead in a hotel room in Waukegan.

David Miller, 59, of Lindenhurst, and Jamir Johnson, 30, formerly of Gurnee, died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to preliminary results from the Lake County Coroner's Office autopsy.

The Waukegan Police Department was called to the former Ramada Inn hotel, at 200 North Green Bay Road, at about 9:50 p.m. Friday for a death investigation. Miller and Johnson were found dead inside one of the hotel rooms with apparent gunshot wounds, according to a news release from the coroner's office.

The shooting deaths remain under investigation.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the former hotel has been closed for nearly four years, and city officials have raised concerns about break-ins and other crimes at the vacant property, along with incidents including burst pipes.
