Grayslake Grad Gets 'Who's Who' Award

2009 Grayslake North High School graduate Kelsey Nelson was selected for the prestigious "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges" program.

Kelsey Nelson of Grayslake has received national recognition as an outstanding campus leader for 2013 by the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges® program.

Nelson, the daughter of Steve and Kathy Nelson, recently graduated from Olivet Nazarene University.

Nelson was one of a select group of 53 seniors from Olivet Nazarene University to accept this prestigious award. More than 2,842 schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia participated in nominating their students for this honor.

A actuarial science and Spanish major, Nelson received this honor for her achievements while at Olivet, including: Dean's List (six semesters); treasurer of Olivet's chapter of Sigma Delta Pi national collegiate Spanish honor society; member of Pi Mu Epsilon mathematics honor society; member of Going Green ecology club and LifeSupport; and secretary of Green Room theatre arts group.

Olivet Nazarene University's campus nominating committee selected and nominated Nelson for this award. Criteria for this selection included grade point average, participation and leadership in school activities, community involvement and leadership ability.
