Grayslake Man Convicted of Fraud
Matthew Giovenco, of Grayslake, was convicted in federal court of passing off his cable installation business as being black-owned.

A Grayslake man recently found guilty of defrauding customers through his cable installation company is facing up to years in prison, reports the Daily Herald.
Matthew Giovenco, 43, of Grayslake, and his partner, Guy Potter, 66, of Kentucky, received $8.3 million in contracts by passing off their business, ICS Cable, as being black-owned, when they are white, reported the Daily Herald.
It was discovered the two men had hired a black student and his mother to act as fronts for their business, thus abusing Chicago's minority-owned procurement program, according to the Chicago Tribune.
