Bike And Pet Parade Rained Out of Summer Days Schedule

A soggy Saturday morning has rained out the Bike and Pet Parade from today's Grayslake Summer Days schedule. Other events, however, are still going on as scheduled as of 11:45 a.m., according to Karen Christian-Smith, executive director of the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce. So grab your umbrella and go check out the events:

Visit the from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday to make a fun sports pennant and explore our national award-winning exhibition, Embracing Change: The Growth of Grayslake. Other displays highlight the history of sports in Grayslake, quilts and even a rare collection of Civil War artifacts. Watch for our 1954 fire truck in the parade.

The fun continues at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 21 at Grayslake Central Park. The Grayslake Athletics and Grayslake Merchants will stage a 19th-century baseball game at the Aquatic Softball field. Learn the wildly different rules and cheer and jeer our teams in fine Victorian fashion. A good will donation is greatly appreciated.
