Northwestern to Host Children's Health and Safety Fair
Flight for Life, fire trucks and kids activities planned for Saturday.

Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital campus at 1475 E. Belvidere Rd. in Grayslake will host a free Children's Health and Safety Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in celebration of their eighth anniversary.
Learn about good health and how to prevent injuries. There will also be plenty of fun and useful information for the entire family.
Take part in the following special activities:

- Flight for Life, 11:00 a.m. β Bring your camera for a picture in the helicopter (weather permitting).
- Sports Injury Prevention & Disability Awareness β Learn more about disability awareness, human anatomy and how to prevent concussions and other sports injuries.
- Healthy Snack-off β Our registered dietitian will prepare and share a healthy snack. Learn how to plant and grow vegetables from Farmer Gray.
- Pet Safety & Teddy Bear Clinic β Get a free teddy bear or stuffed puppy (while supplies last). Save-a-Pet will talk about pet safety and proper careβplus, meet real pets eligible for adoption!
- Trucks and More β Climb in a fire truck, police car and rescue boat. Check out the inside of an ambulance and climb inside a Wildwood Service tow truck.
Additional activities include:
- Helmet Safety for kids of all ages.
- Play the X-ray game: Are you smarter than a radiologist?
- Free bike helmets (while supplies last).
- First-aid demos, fireworks safety and poison prevention.
- Railroad safety.
- Choose yummy, healthy snacks.
- Learn the basics of bike maintenance.
- Free backpack safety check.
