Park District Summer Camps Still Available
It's not too late to get your child involved in select programs through the Grayslake Park District.

If your kids are bored already and you are looking for ways to keep them entertained that are close to home, then check out the camps at the . They still have limited openings in select Summer Camps.
With a theme of "Enriching Lives," the has been providing entertainment, sports and activities for 50 years, said district spokeswoman Kendra Adams.

Day Camp, Grades 1-5
Day Camp is centered on creating, experiencing and expanding your child's summer potential. Campers will participate in large group activities and games, arts and crafts, nature studies, sports, theme weeks and fun Friday events. Campers will swim two days a week and have an off-site field trip once a week. Besides all the fun your camper will have, this is a great way to build long-lasting friendships, teamwork skills and sportsmanship. Camp days are structured with some semi-unstructured time to allow campers to unwind and have some quiet time to recharge their energy levels.

Camp is from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at Grayslake Middle School:
- June 27 - July 8 (no camp 7/4) -Β $258 resident / $323 nonresident

Sports Camp, Grades 1-5
Sports Camp is designed for the child who wants to be active, while learning aspects of a variety of sports in a fun team-oriented atmosphere. Campers will learn an array of sports and games as well as sportsmanship, strategies, skills, rules, game situations, and of course, playing games with an emphasis on FUN!
Sports and games will include: basketball, flag football, softball/baseball, dodge ball, swimming, fitness and much more. Campers will swim two days a week and have an off-site field trip once a week. Counselors strive to offer your child a safe and fun summer that will have them wishing that summer would never end.

Teen Camp, Grades 6-9
A summer of exploration is ahead in this camp geared toward young teens. A variety of activities will help young adults develop leadership skills, while enjoying new experiences. Each week, we will focus on an area of interest chosen by the teens; we will explore the many facets of that area. Activities include sports, swimming at the Grayslake Aquatic Center and more.
Camp is from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Grayslake Middle School:

Breakaway Camp, Grades 6-9
This camp is designed for those who have an adventuresome and thrill-seeking spirit. Breakaway Camp is your ticket to an exciting summer. Each day a different field trip will be taken to area water parks, theme parks, Chicago attractions and athletic events. Trips to Great America, Magic Waters, Navy Pier and a ball game are planned.
Camp is heldΒ Tuesday & ThursdayΒ at the Grayslake Middle School from 8:30am - 3:30pm.

Extended Camp Care
Extended camp hours are available options for campers enrolled in Day Camp, Teen Camp, Breakaway Camp or Sports Camp. If you need an early start to your day or later hours in the afternoon, then this is a program for you. The extended campers will have many options to participate in craft projects, game time and gym time. During extended hours, campers have the flexibility to select their activities. It is the choice of the camper whether they want to join a group structured project or a small group activity.
Please note: Extended camp is not designed to be used on a day-by-day basis. A camper must be pre-registered for this program. If extended camp is utilized as a last-minute emergency, a $10 fee will be collected at the time of drop off or pickup.Β
