• Suspect identified, charged after admitting to stealing high-value items stolen from sports card store near Grayslake (lakemchenryscanner.com) — A Grayslake resident has been charged with felony retail theft after admitting to stealing high-value sports cards and merchandise from a new shop in nearby Third Lake. The suspect allegedly took more than $4,300 in items during the store’s grand opening, later returned the cards, and was released with conditions under Illinois’ SAFE-T Act while awaiting a January 28 court date.
