Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By 2 Vehicles In Gurnee: Police

The Round Lake Beach woman was hit by the vehicles while walking the area of Washington Street and Hunt Club Road Monday night.

GURNEE, IL β€” A 56-year-old Round Lake Beach woman was struck by two vehicles Monday night in Gurnee and later died at an area hospital, police said.

The incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Monday at Washington Street and Hunt Club Road, according to a news release from the Gurnee Police Department.

Police say the woman, who was wearing all black clothing, was walking north in the left lane of Hunt Club Road when she was hit by a Buick Encore, which was headed north on Hunt Club Road.

The woman landed in the right lane of traffic on Hunt Club Road and, minutes later, a Honda Civic drove around the Buick, which had stopped in traffic. The Civic collided with the woman, who was lying in the roadway, according to the news release.

The 56-year-old woman, who has not yet been identified, was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville and later pronounced dead.

No one else was injured in the collision. The crash remains under investigation by the Major Crash Assistance Team and the Gurnee Police Department.

Hunt Club was closed in both direction following the collision.
