LAKE COUNTY, IL β€” The search continues Thursday for a hunter who authorities believe fell off his boat and into Fourth Lake earlier this week, police said.

Patrick R. Serzynski, of unincorporated Lake Villa, was last heard from around 10 a.m. Monday when he was hunting in his duck blind on Fourth Lake, according to a Facebook post from the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Fourth Lake is located south of Lindenhurst and west of Gurnee.

Police recovered his boat and continued to search Thursday, said Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli.

"Based on the most likely probability at this point, detectives believe he likely fell off his boat into the water," Covelli said.

The lake has a shallow depth and an extremely murky and weedy bottom, which has made it hard for search crews to utilize sonar equipment, Covelli said.
