Students Bring Awareness to Distracted Driving
Grayslake North High School students recently posted a YouTube video they created for "Operation Click," a program that aims to prevent distracted driving.
"I'm worth more than a text."
This is the enduring message conveyed in a video created by Grayslake North High School students Alan Muellegger and Amanda Platt for "Operation Click," a program aimed at preventing distracted driving and reinforcing safe driving habits.
The YouTube video takes viewers through situations that would not be appropriate to text—on a date, in the shower, at a job interview. So why, ask the students, would you text and drive? The video also included a cameo from a woman who was paralyzed as the result of a distracted driving accident.

"This took over a month to film, and was filmed at many different venues around our school. We couldn't have done this without the help of all the students who agreed to participate in this video with us, the teachers who supported us, and our special guest, Mrs. Farmer," wrote Platt on YouTube.
"Please like, comment, and favorite so we can spread the word against distracted driving and save lives!"
