GPS Leads Driver Onto Metra Tracks

Driver escaped before a train struck her car at 6:45 a.m. in Hinsdale.

A woman following GPS instructions drove her car onto the Metra tracks crossing Garfield Street in Hinsdale Wednesday morning, where the car was struck by a passing train. The 45-year-old Elgin woman left the car before the Chicago-bound train hit her car at about 6:45 a.m., reports the Chicago Sun-Times. No one was injured. Metra trains were stopped for about 30 minutes, and subsequent morning trains were delayed for about 30 minutes.
