Prospect Celebrates Anne Kryger During Principal Appreciation Week
Kryger's consistent sense of calm is just one of her strengths.
Submitted by Lori Thompson.
The calm fall weather provided a perfect backdrop as elementary students at Prospect “high-fived” Principal Anne Kryger on the way to their classrooms the morning of Friday, Oct. 23. Donned in purple to celebrate her favorite color and that of her mother, Kryger stood outside the school greeting each child at drop-off as she does on most mornings.
Reflecting on her 10 years as an administrator in Community Consolidated School District 181, Kryger notes, “I worked at the old Prospect School building as a special education teacher, I have worked in the District as a Pupil Services Administrator, and then returned to Prospect as the principal. I have always known that this is where my heart is. The best memories I have are when the students come to school, and they are skipping into the building. It makes my heart sing to know they love being at school and helps me know that the students feel safe and secure at our building.”

Current Prospect PTO Co-Presidents Cheryl Butterbach and Pamona Namkung compliment Kryger’s consistent sense of calm as just one strength.
“She makes many daily decisions regarding the safety, health and academic growth of our children and provides constant support to the teachers and staff. Her tireless devotion toward building a strong community within our school has created a learning environment in which our children feel safe and confident.”

Past PTO Co-Presidents Shelly McMillan and Judy Johns Schloegel share:
“With so many different groups of people to answer to, support, develop, and manage - administrators, parents, teachers, staff, the community, and more - Mrs. Kryger never loses sight of the children who are at the heart of these efforts. She is filled with a sense of delight and deep warmth for the children of Prospect School and a great compassion for the many people that make up the Prospect community. She has crafted a very special community at our school. Prospect has a cohesive and caring ‘village-feel’ with unfailing focus on the needs of the students.”
