Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges Tied To Shooting 2: Police

Police charged Calumet City resident Anton Simmons in connection with shooting a 22-year-old man and woman, 42, on Jill Terrance last week.

HOMEWOOD, IL — A 47-year-old Calumet City man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder in the shooting of two people that took place last week, Homewood Police said.

Anton Simmons was arrested on Friday and was scheduled to appear in court on Saturday after the shooting, which took place at 10:06 p.m. on March 16 in the 1200 block of Jill Terrace, police said in a news release on Monday.

Officers arrived to find a 22-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman with gunshot wounds, police said. Both victims were stabilized and taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

Simmons was taken into custody and taken to the Cook County jail pending his arraignment.

Police did not release any more information about the shooting or what led to the incident but did say last week that victims were known to Simmons.
