FLOSSMOOR, IL — The Flossmoor Service League (FSL) is set to hold its 65th Annual House Walk on May 17th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is one of the organization's main fundraisers, and it has become a much-anticipated annual tradition in the community.

The House Walk is organized by volunteers, led by House Walk Chair Jane Baffes and Co-Chair Janine Mlynarcik, and supported by other FSL committee members and volunteers.

The Flossmoor Service League is a volunteer organization whose mission is to assist those in need, particularly by funding South Suburban Charities. These charities include the Jones Community Center, Aunt Martha’s, Future Kids of America, Respond Now, and South Suburban PADS among others.

"The House Walk is one of FSL's main fundraising events, and this year's event promises to be a great one," the group said in a release. "The homes on the tour are all in the Old Flossmoor neighborhood and offer unique experiences for ticket holders."

This year, FSL is encouraging walking or biking to view the homes on the tour, as all properties are within a mile in Old Flossmoor. GoodSpeed Cycles in Homewood has mapped out additional routes for cyclists that showcase other architecturally significant homes between stops on the tour.

The properties on the tour include a mid-century modern home, an updated home near Leavitt Park, and an historic 2nd floor apartment in downtown Flossmoor. Ticket holders will also be entitled to a behind the scenes tour and tasting at the Flossmoor Station Brewery (from 10:30am-2pm).

Participants can purchase a ticket for a $25 donation, available on the FSL website or at local businesses such as UpsaDaisy Boutique, GypsyFix, and Art4Soul. For an additional $25, ticket holders can enjoy a buffet lunch at Flossmoor Station, and raffle tickets will be available for five custom gift baskets.

FSL is grateful to this year's sponsors, including Flossmoor Station Restaurant and Brewery, HF Homes/eXp Realty, and Lain-Sullivan Funeral Directors. These sponsors' contributions help make the House Walk and other FSL events possible, and their generosity is much appreciated.
