2 Cops Injured in Struggle With Ex-Con: Police
The Joliet man was wanted for battering his girlfriend, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet man injured two law officers who took him into custody outside his home Friday night, police said.
The officers were standing by outside 24-year-old Demetrius Glover’s North Hickory Street home about 8 p.m. while his 18-year-old girlfriend retrieved her property, police said. The girlfriend had reportedly complained of Glover battering her earlier in the day.
While the officers were there, they spotted Glover lurking nearby, police said, and they told him he was under arrest.

Glover pushed an officer and attempted to make a run for it, police said, but he was knocked down and handcuffed.
During the struggle, one officer suffered a cut to one of his fingers and scrapes to his knee, police said, and another sustained scrapes and scratches to a forearm and elbow. Neither officer sought medical attention.

Glover was taken to the Will County jail.
Glover was released from prison in January. He did state time for aggravated robbery, robbery and retail theft. He is still on parole and a warrant for his arrest was issued by the Department of Corrections.
