2 Eastbound Lanes Of Jefferson Street Will Close Over Next Few Days
The cause of the water main break is believed to be aging infrastructure.

JOLIET — Restoration of the eastbound lane of West Jefferson Street between North Des Plaines Street and North Joliet Street damaged during a recent water main break will take place beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday and requires closure of the two southern-most lanes.
The closure of these two lanes will begin at Bluff Street and continue over the bridge through North Joliet Street.

Access to the parking lot on the westside of Joliet City Hall will be closed on North Des Plaines Street and visitors will need to access the parking lot from W Washington Street. The work is expected to be completed, and all lanes reopened by 9 a.m. on Monday, January 20th.
