3 Walmart Shoppers Arrested After Self-Checkout Crimes: Joliet Police
A fourth woman managed to get away, according to the Joliet police. But three were arrested and charged with crimes.

JOLIET — For the first time this year, the Joliet Police Department has arrested multiple in connection with the same crime at the Walmart store at 2424 West Jefferson Street. The crime happened Monday night and resulted in the capture of three women, all from Chicago.
Ana Martinez-Garcia, age 31, was arrested and released on a Notice to Appear on two counts of retail theft. Rosa Venancio-Castro, 32, was arrested and released on a Notice to Appear for two counts of retail theft. And third, Brenda Morales-Quezada, 38, was arrested, processed, and released on a Notice to Appear on two counts of retail theft.
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the following events happened Monday night resulting in the three women from Chicago being arrested by the Joliet police force:

At 7:52 p.m., the officers responded to Walmart on West Jefferson for a retail theft. The officers were advised by Walmart loss prevention that four females had been seen under ringing a large amount of merchandise in the self-checkout lanes.
Three of the four females were stopped at the door by loss prevention, and it was determined that all three women also had merchandise concealed in their clothing and bag which they did not purchase. It is alleged that the three females were trying to steal more than $700 in merchandise.

Martinez-Garcia, Venancio-Castro, and Morales-Quezada were placed into custody without incident. The fourth female was unable to be located.
