Woman Suffers Bite Marks In Domestic Incident: Joliet PD
Officers learned that Caballero- Chagala had bit the woman on the shoulder, Joliet police advised.

JOLIET — Officers made hundreds of arrests in 2024, and the new year is also starting out with domestic violence cases throughout the city. One of the latest arrests happened on Friday, resulting in 27-year-old Morris resident Francisco Caballero-Chagala being booked into the Will County Jail on charges of aggravated domestic battery, two counts of domestic battery and one count of interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said that at 10:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, officers responded to the front desk of the Joliet Police Department for a report of a domestic disturbance that had happened earlier. According to English, officers learned that Caballero- Chagala had attacked a 24-year-old woman at approximately 10 p.m. the night before at a house in the 500 block of Ross Street.
According to police, Caballero-Chagala became angry and choked the victim by grabbing her neck, making it difficult for her to breathe.

While Caballero-Chagala choked the victim, police believe that he bit her multiple times on her body. The victim attempted to grab her phone to call 911, but Caballero-Chagala took it away and refused to give it back, English said. Caballero-Chagala was not found at the time of the initial police report.
Later, at 7:50 p.m. Jan. 3, officers were called to the house in the 500 block of Ross Street for an additional domestic disturbance. According to English, officers learned that Caballero- Chagala had bitten the woman on the shoulder.

Caballero-Chagala was on the scene and was placed into custody for both incidents, English said.
