Car Wanted In Triple Homicide Plunges Off I-80 Bridge: ISP
State police said the vehicle was wanted in connection to a Round Lake Beach triple homicide investigation.
JOLIET, IL — Following a police chase through Cook County, a vehicle wanted in connection with a triple homicide investigation plunged off the I-80 Des Plaines River bridge in Joliet Monday afternoon, landing in a wooded area near Water and Duncan streets.
Just before 6 p.m., Illinois State Police said troopers responded to an Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network (ISPERN) broadcast regarding a vehicle linked to a triple homicide investigation in Round Lake Beach.

3 Dead In Round Lake Beach Home; Person Of Interest In Custody: Police
Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle at I-57 and 115th Street in Cook County, but it fled, according to state police. The vehicle eventually crashed near I-80 at Water Street, plunging from the Des Plaines River bridge, and one person was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

Joliet fire officials called the Des Plaines River Bridge incident an accident with extrication.
Joliet police were on the scene, as well as members of the Lake County Sheriff's Office and Illinois State Police.
Police and fire crews remained on the scene of the crash just before 6 p.m. Monday.
All lanes on I-80 had reopened by 5:37 p.m.
