The City Clerk serves as the Local Election Official for City of Joliet Mayor and Councilman elections. The Clerk’s Office provides petition packets as a courtesy to potential candidates. The material in the packets are compiled from the State Board of Elections Local Elections website and Official Handbook.
The Clerk’s Office provided identical packets to all potential candidates for the April 6, 2020 Election. The Local Officials Handbook and 2021 Candidate Guide (Council-Manager form of Government – Municipal: Mayor, Councilmen At-Large (and from Districts in Some Cities) section) served as the reference in compiling these packets.
