Dad Finds Underage Daughter in Basement with Classmate's Father

The man and the girl reportedly fled the house through a window, prompting a police search.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet man caught his 14-year-old daughter in the basement of his house with the father a classmate, police said.

The girl and the man engaged in a sex act with her, 32-year-old Anthony Shannon of Crest Hill, fled through a window of the home on Broadway with the father chasing them into the street shortly before midnight Saturday, police said.

The teen was wearing nothing but shorts and a T-shirt, and in the interest of locating her as soon as possible, the cops brought in a police dog to track her down. The girl was found on Bluff Street before the dog actually started looking for her, police said, and she was taken by ambulance to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.

The teen was reportedly uncooperative when officers tried to speak with her about the incident.

The father, familiar with Shannon from his daughter’s school and aware of where he lives, told the law where they could find him. Officers then headed to Shannon’s home on Wilcox Street but he wasn’t there.

The next day, officers reportedly spoke on the phone with Shannon and he agreed to come to the police station. He was interviewed and arrested.

Shannon was booked into the Will County jail on a charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Under the law, a 14 year old cannot give consent.
