Man Dead Outside Joliet Jewel-Osco Was Found Intoxicated In His Car Previously: Police
The man's identity was revealed by the Will County Coroner's Office.

JOLIET — The Joliet Police Department confirmed that a 35-year-old man was found dead over the weekend at the Jewel-Osco grocery store property. The Will County Coroner's Office of Laurie Summers identified the man as Joliet resident Daniel Repeta.
Police spokesman Dwayne English said that at 10:26 a.m. on Saturday, the officers responded along with the Joliet Fire Department to the parking lot of the Jewel, 1401 W. Jefferson St., for a report of an unresponsive man. Upon arrival, police and paramedics discovered the unresponsive 35-year-old man in a vehicle in the parking lot. The Will County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene, and the man was pronounced dead.
Officers and detectives completed a canvass of the area and there were no signs of foul play, English said. The case remains under investigation, English noted.

Joliet police told Patch that the man was found on the front floorboard of the vehicle. Joliet police also responded to another incident at the very same Jewel property on April 2 involving the same man. That day, at 12:26 p.m., a person passing by called Joliet police for a welfare check for a male possibly having an overdose.
"Our officers and JFD arrived and determined that he was heavily intoxicated, and he was transported to the hospital by the Joliet Fire Department that day. He was located in the same vehicle on both occasions," English said.
