Denied A Ride To Chicago For Drug Run, Joliet Man Cuts Up Buddy: Cops
The stabber was remorseful, but not so much that he didn't threaten to stab his pal again, police said.

Michael Lopez, 25, repeatedly called his 53-year-old pal and badgered him about hitching a ride up to Chicago on Monday, police said. After his buddy continued to deny him a ride, Lopez showed up at his Lois Place apartment about 10 p.m. The two friends then watched movies together.
But Lopez became agitated, went to the kitchen, returned with a steak knife and stabbed his friend in the back, police said. When the wounded man turned around, Lopez allegedly slashed his forearm.
Lopez felt bad about it, police said, and drove his friend to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. While at the hospital, Lopez allegedly caused a scene and was ejected by security.
The St. Joe’s security guards called the cops but had failed to obtain Lopez’s name, police said. Still, he was not that hard to identify as he has tattoos all over his face and neck.
Lopez and a 21-year-old woman picked the wounded man up from the hospital and were driving him home when they were tracked down and pulled over by the police. Lopez was allegedly armed with a folding knife and had been threatening to cut up his buddy some more if he pressed charges against him.
Lopez was taken to the Will County jail.
