Double The Trouble, Joliet Bar Fight Means 2 Arrests: JPD

The victim was able to identify Carlos and Adan Garcia-Valdez as the persons who attacked him, Joliet police noted.

JOLIET — Two brothers from Calumet City were arrested by the Joliet Police Department following an east side bar attack early Friday evening. Joliet police say 48-year-old Carlos Garcia-Valdez and 45-year-old Adan Garcia-Valdez were both arrested, processed and released on a Notice to Appear on criminal charges of battery.

Their arrest happened at the corner of East Jackson Street and Garnsey Avenue.

At about 8 p.m., the officers responded to the 700 block of Garnsey for a bar fight.

As the officers arrived, the victim told the officers that he was attacked by people who were driving away from the scene. The officers pulled them over.

The victim stated while he was using the restroom, in the local establishment, he was attacked by the two Garcia brothers who pushed their way into the restroom. The two then held the victim down and began to beat him. He suffered minor injuries to his head and neck area. The victim was bleeding and had swelling to the side of his face. The Joliet Fire Department was called the scene to provide medical attention.

Landeros said that the victim was able to identify Carlos and Adan Garcia-Valdez as the persons who attacked him. Carlos and Adan were taken into custody and transported to the Joliet Police booking area. Both were later processed and released on NTAs.
