JOLIET — A 34-year-old Joliet man, David Bales, is being kept in the Will County Jail pending a decision on his pretrial release following last Thursday's arrest by the Joliet area drug task force. The police raided a house on Brandon Road and found 135 grams of cocaine and a .45-caliber Glock handgun, court documents show.
The criminal complaint was filed by the Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad and Bales is now charged in Will County with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
The Will County State's Attorney's Office filed a petition seeking to deny pretrial release for Bales. The document indicates that on March 13, the police raided the house in the 1300 block of Brandon Road in Joliet and 135 grams of cocaine were found inside a kitchen drawer along with a scale and drug packaging material.
