2nd Shooting Arrest By Joliet Police After Youngs Avenue Violence
Ryan Gooch, age 19, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force at a house on Pleasant Street in Joliet.

JOLIET — The Joliet Police Department revealed on Friday that 19-year-old Joliet resident Ryan Gooch is now being kept in the Will County Jail as the second person charged in last month's gun violence in the 300 block of Youngs Avenue from Jan. 18.
Gooch is now facing charges of aggravated discharge of a gun and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Following an investigation into the shooting that took place in the 300 block of Youngs Avenue on January 18, detectives identified Gooch as an additional suspect involved in this shooting.
Gooch was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force at a residence in the 200 block of Pleasant Street on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Gooch was processed at the Joliet Police Department and then transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

On Feb. 2, the Joliet Police Department announced that 18-year-old Joliet resident Giovanni Simpson was the first person being arrested and put into the Will County Adult Detention Facility on charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the Youngs Avenue shootings.
