Gunfire In Joliet: 2 Homes On West Side Struck By The Bullets

JOLIET — The Joliet Police Department revealed that officers investigated some gunfire over the weekend. On Saturday, after dark, the officers responded to the 200 block of Pleasant Street for a report of shots fired around 8:15 p.m.

On Pleasant, the officers discovered that two houses had been struck by multiple rounds of gunfire. Both homes were occupied at the time of the shooting; however, no injuries were reported. Officers discovered numerous spent shell casings following a canvass of the area. No arrests have been made in reference to this shooting.

In August 2023, Joliet police also responded to a shooting in the 200 block of Pleasant that left a teenager suffering bullet wounds to the back. For that crime, the Joliet police arrested an 18-year-old out of Crest Hill, Juan Basurto.
