Tragedy In Morris: Another Pedestrian Dies
The collision claimed the life of a 70-year-old Morris woman named Deborah Floyd. The incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m.

MORRIS — For the second time in recent months, a woman from Morris has died after being struck by a vehicle in Morris. The latest incident happened Sunday after it was dark.
According to Grundy County Coroner John Callahan, his agency along with Morris Police Department is investigating a vehicle versus pedestrian crash that claimed the life of a 70-year-old Morris woman named Deborah Floyd. The incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Floyd was crossing Division Street south of Waverly when she was struck by a southbound motorist. Floyd was taken to Morris ER, where she died. The incident remains under investigation by the Grundy County Coroner’s Office and the Morris Police Department.

Back in October, the death of a 38-year-old Morris resident Christann "Tana" Lee, who was run over by a car in downtown Morris, resulted in Morris police filing criminal charges against the 30-year-old driver, Jamie Hage, authorities announced.
Back on Sept. 18, around 3 p.m., Hage was driving her car near Jackson and Franklin streets. As Lee was stepping out between two vehicles to cross the street, she was run over by Hage's car, Morris police announced late last week.

Hage was driving east along Jackson Street at the time of the fatality. A resident of Morris, Lee suffered serious injuries, and was taken to the hospital. Four weeks after being hit by the car, she died on Oct. 15.
