How Many Ashley Madison Cheaters Live in the Will and Kendall Suburbs?

After personal data of the website’s 30 million clients was leaked, a Madrid-based digital agency named Tecnilógica created an interactive map from the information that identifies Ashley Madison users by location worldwide (after stripping out names, addresses and emails).

“Sex sells and forbidden sex clearly sells more,” Tecnilógica CEO Jorge Gutiérrez told Mashable. “The local aspect of the visualization helps with the spread.”

Gutiérrez said it’s natural curiosity to wonder about your neighbors and make comparisons.

“To be honest, the first thing I did when we got the map up was search for my city and do the same thing.”

The data reflects the location of user accounts but doesn’t reflect whether those accounts were ever actually put to use. Also, 80 percent of the registered accounts belong to men. The data was leaked in July by a group of hackers called “The Impact Team.”
