I-55 North Reopens Near Wilmington Township After Semi Crash: ISP
Police said that a semi trailer crashed near a local bridge and then struck two other vehicles before becoming stuck in the guardrail.

WILMINGTON TOWNSHIP, IL — Northbound traffic on a portion of I-55 in Will County has resumed around a Wilmington Township bridge after a three-vehicle accident involving a semi-trailer crash on Friday morning, according to police.
Police said that the accident took place just after 9:35 a.m. at mile-marker 241 near the Kankakee River bridge. The state police said the driver of the semi tractor lost control of his truck, hit the bridge support and then collided with the two other vehicles. The truck then became stuck over the guardrail, police said.
No injuries were reported on scene, police said. All lanes of I-55 northbound were closed during the crash investigation until approximately 1 p.m., police said. Police said that all northbound lanes of the expressway had been closed while troopers worked to clear the scene of the crash.

Police said that there was no further information to report at this time. Police had warned motorists about dangerous road conditions on Friday when high winds were creating low visibility due to blowing snow.
