Joliet Chefs to Compete for Bragging Rights in Steakhouse Chef Competition
Joliet native and Final Cut Steakhouse Sous Chef Chef Nick Dispenza will compete against chefs from Hollywood Casino Aurora and Argosy Alton Casino.

Final Cut Steakhouse Sous Chef Nick Dispenza will be competing at Hollywood Casino Aurora on Oct. 15 in the Midwest Region Steakhouse Chef Competition.
Dispenza will be assisted by Final Cut Executive Chef Lawrence Alexander and is excited about the competition.
"We're passionate about food and that elegance on a plate," Dispenza said.
The preliminary round will be split up into two competitions. The first will take place Oct. 15 and will see Dispenza compete against Chef Walter Lappay, of Hollywood Casino Aurora and Chef Jeff Ledford, Argosy Alton Casino. The second competition in the preliminary round will take place on Oct. 29 and Chef Eric Jones, of Hollywood Casino Columbus, Chef Bill Coyle, of Hollywood Casino Toledo and Chef Ian Jordan, of Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg will compete.
The winners of round one will move on to the finale, which will take place Nov. 19 at Hollywood Casino Joliet.
The winner of the finals will receive a custom chef's coat, a 3-day culinary tour of Las Vegas and the director's cut trophy.
