Joliet Man Tries To Strangle Teenage Girl: Prosecutors
Will County Judge John Pavich signed an arrest warrant on Monday authorizing Joliet police to take Parrott into custody on seven charges.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet resident Darvez Parrott, who spent seven and a half months in 2023 and 2024 in the Will County Jail facing armed violence charges, now faces seven new criminal charges from Joliet police in connection with allegations he tried to strangle an 18-year-old Joliet woman.
In recent days, Joliet police detective Jonathan Rutkoski filed his criminal complaint at the courthouse against the 35-year-old defendant, who comes from the 1700 block of Glenwood Avenue. Parrott faces two counts of aggravated domestic battery, four counts of domestic battery and one count of interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.
Parrott is accused of attacking the teenager on April 10. The complaint indicates he struck her in the head, took her phone and grabbed her around the neck and tried to strangle her.
