Joliet House Fire On Mystic Drive: Here's What Happened

A dog and a cat were rescued from the building during the search operations.

JOLIET — On Friday during the lunch hour, the Joliet Fire Department put out a house that was on fire in the Plainfield area.

According to the fire department press release:

At 12:28 p.m., the Joliet Fire Department responded to 1720 Mystic Drive for a house on fire. The first units arrived within 4 minutes of the call. Upon investigation, the crews found heavy fire from the attached garage. Residents were out all out of the structure and accounted for.

The fire was mostly contained to the garage area of the structure and was extinguished before it entered the living area. The scene was declared under control at 1:17 p.m. There were no injuries.

Fire crews from Stations 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 were on scene.
