JOLIET — The Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow has filed a total of six criminal charges against a 35-year-old man named Larry Parish Jr. following last week's death of a dog. The cruelty to animal charges indicate that on Jan. 3, Parish put a dark brown dog in a life-threatening situation by exposing it to extreme, cold conditions for a prolonged period of time, resulting in the dog's death.

The Joliet Police Department oversaw the investigation into the animal's death.

Another charge indicates that Parish exposed his dog to extreme cold conditions that resulted in hypothermia, hyperthermia, frostbrite "or similar conditions as diagnosed by a doctor of veterinary medicine."
