Joliet Man Strangled, Assaulted Woman During Domestic Dispute: Police

JOLIET, IL – A 23-year-old Joliet man faces aggravated domestic battery charges after police said he strangled a woman during an argument earlier this week and was arrested.

Romiro Reyes-Toledo was arrested earlier this week after Joliet Police were called to the 1200 block of Kinsey Avenue just after 7 p.m. for a report of a domestic dispute. According to police, Reyes-Toledo pulled the woman's hair, strangled her and threw her to the ground, court documents say.

Reyes-Toledo was arrested without incident at the scene, police said. He was charged with three counts of domestic battery and two counts of aggravated domestic battery associated with the strangling accusations, according to court documents.
