Joliet Police Remove Man From Car After Brief Struggle: English
Alverties White attempted to pull away from officers while handcuffed prior to being placed in a squad car, Joliet police noted.

JOLIET — A 38-year-old man from Shorewood finds himself facing charges of DUI, three counts of obstructing a peace officer and three counts of resisting a peace officer, according to police. The seven criminal charges against Alverties White came as the result of an overnight arrest by the Joliet police this past weekend.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 12:57 a.m. March 1, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Tahoe near Center Street and Bridge Street for improper lane usage and improper passing of an emergency vehicle.
At the onset of the traffic stop, the driver, later identified as White, refused to provide his driver’s license to the officer, English said.

According to police, while speaking with White, officers noted that he exhibited signs of possible alcohol impairment. White refused to exit the vehicle when ordered by the officers, English said, adding that White was advised that he was under arrest but continued to refuse to exit the vehicle.
English noted that White was removed from the vehicle by the officers following a brief struggle in which White continued to resist arrest. Officers were then able to place White into custody.

Afterward, White attempted to pull away from the officers while handcuffed prior to being placed in a squad car, the arrest report showed.
White was also cited for improper passing of an emergency vehicle and improper lane usage, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
