Joliet Shamrock Stroll: Reuben Sliders, Guinness Braised Lamb Chops

JOLIET — The Joliet City Center Partnership announced it is proud to host the third annual Shamrock Stroll event on March 14, starting at 5 p.m. in Downtown Joliet. The event is sponsored by Old National Bank and is free to attend.

“This is a great opportunity for residents and visitors to get to know many of our downtown businesses while celebrating a fun holiday and supporting our neighbors of Irish heritage,” stated Vicki Sanchez, Interim Executive Director for the CCP. Shamrock Stroll is one of many downtown events produced by the Joliet City Center Partnership to showcase and promote downtown businesses and boost community pride among Joliet residents and visitors.

Visitors will enjoy celebrating St. Patrick’s Day a little early in Downtown Joliet. Restaurant food specials include Reuben sliders, Guinness braised lamb chops, bangers and mash, corned beef tacos, Guinness-braised lamb chops, and more! Non-alcoholic drink specials include shamrock mint bubble tea, Irish coffee with Bailey's infused cold foam and Raspberry Fool Frappe. Other drink specials include green margaritas, Jameson orange sour cocktail, green tea shots, milk shake shots, and so much more.

Azul Celeste Bar & Grill, Yura Nuna, Jitters, The Blue Taco, Chicago Street Pub, Richardson’s Bar & Grill, Judge’s Bar, Juliet’s Tavern, Mousa Greek Taverna, and Cut 158 are excited to bring some Irish flavor to the Shamrock Stroll.

Retail stores are excited to offer specials as well including shamrock plants, lucky discounts, and other fun activities. In fact, for one night only, the gift shops at the Illinois Rock & Roll Museum and the Joliet Area Historical Museum will be selling the popular I “Heart” Downtown Joliet t-shirts for only $10 while supplies last.

Visitors can also pick up a free green beaded necklace at our retail stores including Audiophil’s Records, Prison City Vintage, Black Cat Curiosities, Colibri: The Hummingbird Oases, and the Sewing Café.

The event will feature a variety of Irish-themed activities. If you are interested in live music, the Illinois Rock & Roll Museum, Chicago Street Pub, and Jitters will all be providing live Irish music with no cover charge. In addition, Azul Celeste will be providing a DJ for the evening. For something truly unique, The Sewing Café will be offering a fun DIY session where visitors can make shamrock scrunchies.
