JOLIET, IL — Joliet’s fall yard waste collection period is set to end next month as December gives way to colder months, the city announced. The last week of yard waste pickup is Dec. 7 to 11.

Residents hoping to dispose of yard waste before it's too late should place waste at the curb or alley where they would usually place garage or recycling.

Brush, limbs and branches up to 4-feet and weighing no more than 50 pounds should be bundled, the city said. No pieces of wood wider than three inches in diameter will be accepted, nor will unbundled brush.

Only yard waste placed in 30-gallon paper bags or rigid containers up to 32 gallons will be accepted. Containers must be visible from the street. Yard waste must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on pickup day.
